God's Word for Your Walk!

Image

Ever taken a long drive?
I still remember the first time I drove from Sydney to the Gold Coast - it felt like I had left the country! It was so far and and so complicated. Freeways were only in sections and you still had to drive through lots of small towns. Big freeways may be boring but they are easy to follow. They have lots of clear signs. Small towns are exciting because the scenery is changing but they lack proper signage for your direction. Most people get lost on a long trip in the small towns. Not much has changed today. Life is full of big events and small daily decisions. Most of us get lost in the myriad of choices afforded to us every day. It's our walk that we need to watch!

Where have your feet taken you?
We are all on a journey to somewhere!

There is an interesting interaction between Jesus and Peter in John 13. Jesus is wanting to wash all the disciples feet but Peter refuses, with good intentions. "No," said Peter, "you shall never wash my feet." Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me." (John 13:8) Those who washed your feet were very humble, lowly servants. How could we treat Jesus this way? Jesus was pointing out that once we are bathed we are already clean, v10. We need only to wash our feet. This is so we make sure our feet take us to all the places Jesus wants us to go. Eph 5:25-26 says that Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word. God is still washing feet today by the word of Christ. God's word for your walk!
